You know, that Spandex Fishnet post got a lot of notes, which is great! A lot of people really like them, but there were a few comments that weren’t so positive—which is ok! We need to hear feedback on what works and what doesn’t.
But I’d like to remind you that we’re people too. Inappropriate…
I’m sorry to hear people were cruel about it. I’d be glad to be a tester for you- I’m definitely plus-sized, and have squeezed into your lower-end plus size (and even some one-size!) tights with mixed results. I actually tore a pair today, but that was due to my not handling them gently enough.
Anyhow, if you want more info, drop me a line. I’d be glad to help!
Eureka.
This is a eureka moment.
This is Areng wood, 30mm. These old, bent hands give it a distinct Salvador Dali feel to the piece, but I think…
I think I’ve FINALLY found a home for one of my blue diamonds.
Making this is gonna be really, really hard- mostly a valiant effort to not destroy the hands, as the metal is so very thin.
I want to solder them on, but the torch will warp and destroy such delicate metal in a blink.
I could use epoxy, but I’m afraid it will fail someday, and this will all fall apart.
Ohh, decisions, decisions…… Feedback? Anyone? Am I just a crazy lady in love with this, r does it actually look good??
Laying out pieces to experiment with. These teeeeeny pieces (with a dime to give you an idea of sale) are the “jeweled” bits of a watch. The gears in a watch are turned on a shaft, and the shaft ends are secured in place so they don’t move. Now, the constant twisting and rotating of the shaft causes a lot of friction and erosion, so these jeweled pieces are put at each end to hold them in place. The jewels are mostly rubies, and sometimes diamonds, or other stones. The hardness of the jewels reduces the erosion and friction caused by the axle of the gears.
As you can see from the photo, some are quite brightly colored, and some are not. Some have tiny funnel shapes that are meant to hold the axle in place, and sometimes have a tiny hole drilled for the same purpose.
I enjoy using these in the nose piercings I make, because then their delicate color and shape can be more appreciated- but these may make their way into some of my new tunnels. I haven’t decided yet. What do you think?
Just “trying on” a few designs. Trying to find out what colors an designs compliment these beautiful Areng wood 13/16” tunnels. Let me know which design you like best by re-posting or favoriting it!

In memory of Pauline Friedman Phillips, better known as Dear Abby.(This wasn’t the exact text of the original question, but the answer is verbatim — and spot-on.) Rest in peace, great sassy one.
